Challenge

Pantos Trucking required comprehensive surveillance for its high-activity Tsawwassen logistics facility. The project faced significant hurdles including extreme 900-foot cable runs, 45-foot mounting heights, and potential signal degradation in a dense industrial environment.

The logistics security infrastructure needed to support 4K video, long-distance PoE, and high-density camera traffic across the warehouse and yard.

Solution

Solution

Columbia Security Systems & Surveillance Inc. deployed a high-density LUMINYS ecosystem powered by LumiPower long-distance PoE switches and enterprise-grade R68 NVRs, ensuring stable power and 4K video transmission across the entire facility.

Result

Result

The solution eliminated concerns regarding voltage drop and network congestion, providing a stable, scalable backbone. Onsite validation confirmed zero signal degradation at maximum distances, giving the customer total operational confidence.

By standardizing on Luminys logistics security infrastructure, Pantos Trucking gained a stable foundation for current monitoring needs and future facility expansion.

Luminys R68 NVR and switching equipment for Pantos logistics security infrastructure

Pantos Trucking operates a high-volume logistics facility in Tsawwassen, BC, where maintaining continuous visibility across sprawling indoor warehouses and outdoor yard areas is critical to global supply chain operations. As a high-activity hub, the facility required a surveillance infrastructure that could match its scale, but the physical site presented significant technical barriers.

Large-scale logistics environments often push the limits of traditional networking. With mounting heights reaching 45 feet and critical camera placements requiring cable runs of nearly 900 feet, the facility faced the risk of severe voltage drop and signal degradation. To ensure the safety of the crew and the security of the cargo, Pantos Trucking partnered with Columbia Security Systems & Surveillance Inc. to engineer a solution built for distance, density, and reliability.

Intelligent Infrastructure Built for Distance and Density

The primary concern for the project was maintaining consistent camera performance over extreme distances without the cost and complexity of intermediate networking closets. Standard PoE infrastructure typically fails beyond 328 feet (100m), but the Tsawwassen facility required runs nearly triple that length.

To solve this, Columbia Security deployed Luminys LumiPower long-distance PoE switches. These switches were specifically engineered to deliver stable power and high-speed data over extended distances, ensuring that even the most remote cameras in the yard remained fully operational under peak load conditions. By utilizing an R68 Enterprise NVR backbone and high-bandwidth aggregation switching, the team ensured that the high-density camera setup—totaling over 110 endpoints—maintained seamless connectivity without network drop-offs.

Proven Stability through Rigorous Onsite Validation

Before the full rollout, Columbia Security conducted extensive onsite validation and incremental load testing. This structured approach allowed Pantos Trucking to verify that the infrastructure could handle real-world industrial interference and variable load conditions without compromising uptime.

A Scalable Foundation for Future Expansion

The deployment has successfully transformed the Tsawwassen facility into a managed, high-visibility environment. With 4K AI-enabled cameras and 180-degree panoramic engine room monitoring, Pantos Trucking now possesses a unified view of its operations.

By combining robust hardware with a validated architectural design, the solution has not only met current security demands but also provided a clear framework for future fleet and facility expansion. For Pantos, the project represents a move toward a more resilient and proactive logistics ecosystem, where technology matches the speed and scale of modern trucking.
