Puerto Rico teams needed a more reliable way to monitor intersections, facility perimeters, traffic areas, and high-priority public sites where fixed infrastructure was limited. Previous mobile video units were costly, inconsistent, and not always durable enough for tropical weather and severe storm conditions.
PowerComm PR deployed 20 Luminys TG-113A LumiGuardian solar trailers with integrated cameras, AI-powered video analytics, LumiCloud support, license plate capture for authorized review, PTZ visibility, fisheye trailer-area monitoring, and upgraded onboard computing for LumiViewer integration.
The deployment created a standardized mobile video security platform that supports remote monitoring, incident verification, forensic review, centralized access, and faster deployment to locations where fixed infrastructure cannot keep up.

A Mobile Visibility Challenge Across Demanding SitesAcross Puerto Rico, teams needed to maintain visibility across selected traffic areas, perimeters, public facilities, and high-priority outdoor locations. These sites often faced power limitations, communications constraints, tropical weather, and difficult terrain.
Existing mobile video options added another layer of complexity. Previously sourced trailers were built with standard components from different suppliers, which created inconsistent user experiences and support challenges. Some systems also struggled during severe weather events.
The project required a repeatable mobile video security solution that could operate in demanding environments, support remote access, and reduce the complexity of managing separate third-party hardware, software, cloud, and support systems.
After a comprehensive bidding and evaluation process, PowerComm PR selected Luminys LumiGuardian for its integrated approach. Rather than combining trailer hardware, cameras, analytics, connectivity, software, and support from separate vendors, Luminys delivered the core video security stack through one platform.
Each TG-113A LumiGuardian trailer was configured with four cameras to support multiple site visibility needs:
N5P-8DA2 cameras for wide scene visibility.P54-4SA25 PTZ cameras for flexible remote viewing of priority areas.N9L-4RAL LPR cameras for authorized vehicle review.N9F-12RA1 fisheye cameras for visibility around the trailer and surrounding area.
The deployment also included LumiCloud support, LCL-ST4 and LCL-DATA100GP licenses, and upgraded 2nd gen R4 computer boards for LumiViewer integration. For teams managing multiple deployments, the unified architecture helps reduce training, support, and operational friction.

The project required more than installing cameras on a trailer. Puerto Rico’s tropical climate and complex terrain tested the structural integrity of the mobile units, requiring multiple hardware revisions during the program.
Those improvements became part of the value of the deployment. LumiGuardian evolved into a more durable mobile video security system designed for demanding outdoor environments, including locations where power and communications infrastructure may be less predictable.
With LumiGuardian, authorized teams gained access to an integrated mobile platform with AI-powered video analytics. The system supports person, vehicle, and object detection, perimeter event alerts, traffic activity review, centralized monitoring, improved communications, and low-latency live access.
The operational impact is practical. A single LumiGuardian trailer can monitor a defined area, record video, and process event metadata for authorized review. Teams can use the added visibility to reduce passive observation and focus resources on higher-priority field work.
A Repeatable Blueprint for Multi-Site Mobile CoverageThe initial project includes 20 LumiGuardian trailers, with additional units planned. As the deployment expands, the value of standardization grows: teams gain a consistent platform, a single point of contact, and a clearer path for support, training, and future enhancements.
For PowerComm PR and project stakeholders in Puerto Rico, LumiGuardian represents more than a mobile camera trailer. It provides a scalable mobile video security layer designed to improve site visibility, simplify system management, and support faster incident review.
This is to express my gratitude to all the efforts that everyone put together to have the trailer operational. Today’s presentation was a total success. Once again, thank you very much!!!
